Who runs this site
StudioLavian, at www.studiolavian.com, is run by Yoel Lavian, an artist based in Israel. Yoel Lavian is the controller of the personal information collected through the site.
For any question or request about privacy, write tocontact@studiolavian.com.
What is collected
The site may collect the following:
- What you enter in the contact form: your name, email address and the text of your message; the title of a painting, if you wrote from a painting's page; and anything else you choose to include in the message.
- What you enter when subscribing to the mailing list: your email address, the time you gave consent, the IP address it came from, your subscription status before and after the double opt-in confirmation, and the version of the consent wording shown to you, the language of the form you used and the source of the sign-up — these form the record of that consent.
- Interaction with the mailing list: clicks on links inside the messages sent to it. See "The mailing list" below for what that means in practice.
- Usage and measurement data: if you allow measurement, data such as pages viewed, visit times, referring source, device and browser type, and IP address or online identifiers may be collected, according to how Google Analytics 4 works and the settings chosen for it.
- Technical and security data: the hosting and security providers may process the technical data needed to deliver the site, secure it, prevent abuse and diagnose faults.
Please do not send sensitive information, or any personal information that the enquiry does not require.
Is there any obligation to provide it
There is no legal obligation to provide information through this site. Giving it is voluntary. Without a name, an email address and enough of a message, an enquiry cannot be answered. Subscribing to the mailing list is not required in order to browse the site or to send a message.
What the information is used for
The information is used only for the following purposes:
- receiving enquiries and replying to them;
- carrying on the correspondence that follows an enquiry;
- sending updates about works, exhibitions, events or artistic activity to people who explicitly asked for them;
- measuring and improving use of the site, only after measurement has been allowed;
- operating and securing the site, preventing spam and abuse, and fixing faults;
- meeting a legal obligation or defending legal rights, where required.
Sending the contact form never adds anyone to the mailing list.
The mailing list
Subscribing is a separate, voluntary choice. Subscription details are managed through MailerLite and are used to send updates about Yoel Lavian's artistic work.
Interaction measurement. Links inside mailing-list messages do not lead straight to their destination: they pass through links.studiolavian.com — a subdomain of this site, operated by MailerLite — which records the click and then forwards you. That is how interest in particular content is measured.This cannot be switched off — it is part of how the service works, and the subscription-confirmation and unsubscribe links pass through it too, because that is how those actions are carried out. Measurement of whether a message was opened, by contrast, is switched off in the account settings.
This data is used only to understand which content draws interest. It is not used for advertising, for profiling or for passing to anyone else, and it is never joined to what was sent through the contact form.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every message, or by writing tocontact@studiolavian.com. After you unsubscribe no further marketing messages are sent, apart from a technical message needed to complete the request. A minimal record of the request may be kept, so that the address is not added again against your wishes.
Cookies and measurement
The site may use browser storage to operate and to remember your privacy choice. That choice is kept in your browser only, under the key studiolavian.consent, and is never used to identify anyone.
The measurement tool used on this site is Google Analytics 4. The tool does not load before you have allowed measurement in the consent request; you can decline and keep using the site as usual, and change your choice at any time through the “Privacy settings” link in the footer.
If measurement is allowed, Google sets the first-party cookies _ga and _ga_<measurement id> and processes usage data under its own policy. The retention period for user- and event-level data is 2 months, the shortest option available, after which it is deleted. Aggregated statistical reports, which do not identify any visitor, may be kept in the account for longer. SeeGoogle's privacy policyandhow Google uses information.
Who the information may be passed to
Information is passed on only as far as running the site and the purposes above require, to:
- Vercel — hosting and serving the site;
- Cloudflare — processing and protecting requests from the contact form and the mailing-list sign-up form;
- Resend — delivering contact-form messages by email;
- Google — delivering those messages to the artist's mailbox;
- MailerLite — managing subscriptions and sending the mailing list;
- Google Analytics — measuring use, only after consent;
- professional advisers or competent authorities, where required by law or to defend legal rights.
Information is never sold or rented to third parties.
Processing outside Israel
The providers listed above are international companies, so information is processed and stored on servers outside Israel. They are used subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and where a provider offers a data processing undertaking it has been accepted. Using the site and contacting us through it constitute consent to that transfer and to processing outside Israel.
How long it is kept
- Enquiries are kept for as long as handling them and keeping a reasonable record of the correspondence requires — normally no more than 24 months after the matter is closed, unless a different period is needed because of an ongoing relationship, a legal obligation, or the need to keep an enquiry in order to defend against a future claim or legal proceeding.
- Mailing-list details are kept until you unsubscribe or the list is discontinued, subject to keeping a minimal record of the unsubscribe.
- Measurement data is kept according to the retention setting in the account, as described above.
- Technical and security data is kept as long as operationally necessary and according to the infrastructure providers' own policies.
Information that no longer needs to be kept is deleted or put beyond identification, as far as that is practical and consistent with the law.
Security
Reasonable measures are taken to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, misuse or disclosure. The contact form validates its input, accepts requests only from permitted origins, and carries measures that reduce spam and abuse. No online system is completely secure, though, so absolute security cannot be promised.
Your rights and requests
Under the law a person may ask to review the personal information about them held in a database, and to correct information that is incorrect, incomplete, unclear or out of date. You may also ask to stop receiving mail, to withdraw a consent you gave for a particular use, or to have information deleted; such requests are considered and handled according to the law and the circumstances.
To make a request: contact@studiolavian.com. To protect your own privacy, reasonable proof of identity may be needed before information is released or changed.
Links to other sites
The site may link to social networks or to third-party sites. Using those is subject to their own privacy policies, and StudioLavian has no control over how they behave.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site, its providers or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. A material change in how information is used will be shown on the site, and fresh consent will be asked for where that is needed.
